Some spring poems

At snow bank’s
gravelly foot
willow awakens
fuzzy buds
birdsong
characters of dream
escaped into green world
of spring
___

Drizzle picks up
once erratic
drops on roof
become steady pelt

short heavy downpour
then subsiding
out of the silence
between drops on roof
comes the whistle of thrushes
waiting for worms
___

Spring
so slow
to open its heart
in this cold, rainy weather
glimpses of green buds
that shrink back inside
themselves
when the wind picks up
___

Old boat on beach
battered by many winters
tossed along rocks
tied to collapsed
stone break wall
